ACHIEVEMENT'S SILVER CRY, by MARGARETE ROSE AKIN First Line: Within my castled mind a gleaming page unrolls Last Line: Achievement's silver cry vibrates my tongue, my throat. | |||
Within my castled mind a gleaming page unrolls. Success is written large within its curling scrolls, And dares me, line on line, to compass higher goals. The bridge that led across is worn by former strain, With inlaid hollows, where the soul-marks groove and grain -- A telltale struggle pitting both my heart and brain. Ambition's ramparts echo a final bugle note -- Elation whips beyond her leashing castle-moat -- Achievement's silver cry vibrates my tongue, my throat. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A CALIFORNIA CHRISTMAS by CINCINNATUS HEINE MILLER CHRISTMAS LULLABY by MARY KATUS ANDERSON ON SENDING MY SON AS A PRESENT TO DR.
