THE INTRODUCTION, by AL-DHAHABI First Line: Most noble excellence / whose earnest eulogy Last Line: To where the flowers shone. | |||
Most noble Excellence, Whose earnest eulogy Based on experience Good guidance proved to me: God's recompense be thine For that thou didst confer, And may thy star still shine To guide the wayfarer. What shaft of lightning glowed What raincloud to display! What dawning marked the road To what refulgent day! The breeze sweet fragrance shed To draw my footsteps on: Unerringly it led To where the flowers shone. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GAMBOLS OF CHILDREN by GEORGE DARLEY THE CHILDREN by CHARLES MONROE DICKINSON O BLACK AND UNKNOWN BARDS by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON THE EAGLE OF THE BLUE by HERMAN MELVILLE HYMN OF THE WEST by EDMUND CLARENCE STEDMAN |
