ABODE DIVINE, by AL-RUSAFI First Line: Enchanting night! Last Line: At gloaming's cup. Alternate Author Name(s): Rusafi, Muhammad Ibn Ghalib Al- | |||
Enchanting night! O sweet delight Here upon the lip Cool wine to sip. Yonder the sun, His journey done, Lays to earth his cheek Slumber to seek. A zephyr flirts With the hills' skirts; The sky's brow doth gleam, A burnished stream. Abode divine! The night, the wine, Soothing music of A cooing dove. A singing bird, A green bough stirred: Darkness leans, to sup At gloaming's cup. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE WEAVER'S APPRENTICE by AL-RUSAFI THE YOUNG CARPENTER by AL-RUSAFI DOMESDAY BOOK: JANE FISHER by EDGAR LEE MASTERS THE WIZARD IN WORDS by MARIANNE MOORE A LECTURE UPON THE SHADOW by JOHN DONNE ANNE by LIZETTE WOODWORTH REESE AN HYMN TO THE EVENING by PHILLIS WHEATLEY ENVOI: DEATH (2) by GEORGE BARLOW (1847-1913) SONNETS OF MANHOOD: 2.
