INFLUENCE, by BELLE BEARDEN BARRY First Line: Should there come into your mind Last Line: Take it out in doing! | |||
Should there come into your mind Just a little thought unkind, Let not thought evolve to word, Let not word to deed be stirred -- Take it out in thinking! Should there come into your heart A thought that may some love impart, Hold that thought and let it grow -- Into a word the world may know -- Take it out in speaking! Should there come into your soul A thought and word of good control, Evolve them into deeds of love And help the world to forward move -- Take it out in doing! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A POEM FROM THE EDGE OF AMERICA by JAMES GALVIN ON THE EMIGRATION TO AMERICA AND PEOPLING WESTERN COUNTRY by PHILIP FRENEAU A MEDITATION FOR HIS MISTRESS by ROBERT HERRICK THE QUEEN IN FRANCE; AN ANCIENT SCOTTISH BALLAD by WILLIAM EDMONSTOUNE AYTOUN STANZAS, OCCASIONED BY THE DEATH OF A RELATIVE ABROAD by BERNARD BARTON |
