THE coffin sinks, whereon an opening rose Is laid, a father's melancholy dower, And earth that bore them both doth early close O'er maid and flower. Yet wish them not in this vile world delayed, This grieving world where strife and sorrow lour, Winds break and blight, sunshine doth scorch and fade, Both maid and flower. Then rest!
