SATYRIC LYRIC, by E. B. CROSSWHITE First Line: You say that, by a newer wooer Last Line: Mabel. | |||
You say that, by a newer Wooer, Your heart has been invaded, Raided; Unguessing that my harder Ardor Might possibly have faded, Jaded. Long intervals I've waited, Sated, To (rather than resist you) Tryst you; And, as you termed hot courting Sporting, I've often, to assist you, Kissed you. One knows, apart from college Knowledge, That love is but an able Fable... And so, at this impending Ending I feel entirely stable, Mabel. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...CHAMBER MUSIC: 27 by JAMES JOYCE THE KEEP-SAKE by SAMUEL TAYLOR COLERIDGE AUTUMN MORNING AT CAMBRIDGE by FRANCES CROFTS DARWIN CORNFORD LAUSANNE: IN GIBBON'S OLD GARDEN by THOMAS HARDY SATIRES OF CIRCUMSTANCE: 12.
