FOR HIS SAKE, by ANNIE DENMAN First Line: Are you washed in the blood Last Line: With the christ on the cross. | |||
Are you washed in the blood Of the Christ of the cross? For His sake have you borne Any pain, any loss? Any bruises for Him Who was bruised on the tree? Any wounds for the Lord Who was wounded for me? Any stripes for the Christ By whose stripes we were healed? Any labor and heat In the Lord's harvest field? From a dark prison cell, Could you sing in the night? Is your valley of shadow God's pillar of light? Surrendered to Him Who has died in your stead? Are you living for Christ In a world that is dead? Rejoice in the Lord In your pain, in your loss, For you are made one With the Christ on the cross. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MY GARDEN by THOMAS EDWARD BROWN SONG, WRITTEN AT SEA, IN THE FIRST DUTCH WAR, 1665 ... by CHARLES SACKVILLE (1637-1706) THE SNOW MAN by WALLACE STEVENS THE JEW'S GIFT; A.D. 1200 by THOMAS BAILEY ALDRICH PEARLS OF THE FAITH: 29.
