THE CHRISTMAS RADIO, by MARY P. DENNY First Line: I heard the radio proclaim / the wonder of a Last Line: The glory of a matchless name. Subject(s): Christmas Carols; Radio; Singing & Singers; Sound; Songs | |||
I heard the radio proclaim The wonder of a lighted land; The beauty of the seaside strand, The hush of woods where snow path lies; The glory of the great clear skies, The sweet, clear note of silver chimes, And sound of sleigh bells far away, I heard at dawn on Christmas day. I heard at dawn on Christmas day The far off carol of a song, A carol borne through ages long, Peace upon earth, goodwill to men. The glory of an opened sky, The beauty of a temple high. And wonder chimes from Heaven sent Through all the earth, I heard at dawn on Christmas day. I heard the radio bells proclaim The glory of the Christmas day The beauty of the great yule tree, Reaching through space in wonder far Toward the glory of a star. The holly and the mistletoe, And all the storied carols old, I heard the radio bells proclaim The glory of a matchless Name. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE APOLLO TRIO by CONRAD AIKEN BAD GIRL SINGING by MARK JARMAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 4 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 5 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 28 by JAMES JOYCE THE SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE IS LIKE THE SCENT OF SYRINGA by MINA LOY ODE TO AMERICA by MARY P.
