A little child soul, Once forlorn, Searching for a heart -- To hide. Found the rays Of the sun leading To the poet To abide Since then the lyric Of the singer Changed the note To wonder song; And never since then Was heard but laughter Of the bard With child-soul young. And old and gray With age and years, Became the singer As time raced. But never did That child song leave, That heart, that soul, It once embraced.
