MISCONCEPTION; A SONG, by CORA RANDALL FABBRI First Line: There's a bee in the rose Last Line: If you looked in my heart! | |||
THERE'S a bee in the rose, Though you cannot see it, Stealing her sweet, stealing her sweet. Nobody knows There's a bee in the rose Under their feet, under their feet. Wafts of south breezes have stirred her to motion. See! she is bathed in the sun's golden ocean. Who could divine it? Nobody knows There's a bee in the rose. There's a grief in my heart, Though you cannot see it, Darkening love's lightdarkening love's light. How you would start If you looked in my heart, All is such dreary and desolate night. Still I go smiling, eyes bright with emotion, Gazing, you think, on Joy's mystical ocean. Sweet misconception! How you would start If you looked in my heart! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A THOUGHT by CORA RANDALL FABBRI A WINTER PIECE by CORA RANDALL FABBRI ABSENCE by CORA RANDALL FABBRI AN OLD MAID by CORA RANDALL FABBRI DECEPTION by CORA RANDALL FABBRI DIED YOUNG by CORA RANDALL FABBRI HEART SONGS by CORA RANDALL FABBRI IN TUSCANY: A SEA-SPELL by CORA RANDALL FABBRI IN TUSCANY: ANITA by CORA RANDALL FABBRI |
