WHEN TONY SINGS, by AGNES V. FLANNERY First Line: The world grows radiant, reverent, right Last Line: When tony sings. | |||
The world grows radiant, reverent, right, When Tony sings; And aching hearts beat with delight, What joy he brings! From slender, arching, golden throat Glad music rings; And glory reigns in every note That Tony sings. And if the day be drab and dull, From high he flings Gay carols that he seems to cull From beneath his wings. And like his songs -- both high and low He blithely swings; The neighbors murmur "Cheerio" When Tony sings. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...AN IMITATION OF SPENCER by WILLIAM BLAKE ON FRIENDS AND FOES by WILLIAM BLAKE CHINESE PICTURE by EDMUND CHARLES BLUNDEN SHAKE, MULLEARY AND GO-ETHE by HENRY CUYLER BUNNER MEDITATIONS FOR EVERY DAY IN PASSION WEEK: MONDAY by JOHN BYROM TO THE NEW YEAR, FOR THE COUNTESS OF CARLISLE by THOMAS CAREW |
