DUALITY, by
First Line: I found myself in old and well-known places
Last Line: The stranger that was I.
Subject(s): Self

I found myself in old and well-known places,
And yet each stone, each tree, was new;
My footstep sounded familiarly
Down an unremembered street.
The moments hung like blossoms,
Pressing me hard,
Tinged with elusive beauty.

Was it a dream?
I hurried round the corner,
With a touch of former pride,
And there at the turning,
With a new discernment,
I came upon an old friend --
The stranger that was I.
