Love is a shining vital thing --
A dream's hope, and a whispering
Of chords that shimmer and tremble and sing,
Setting the heart all afire.

And love is a subtle, moving power,
A halftone in the twilight hour,
A tear, or a smile; a fairy's caress,
Benediction -- happiness.

And love has healing, and love is wise;
And love has tender, happy eyes --
For love is a shining vital thing,
A dream's hope, and a whispering.
