First Line: It drooped and it faded, my rose of beauty rare
Last Line: Unbroken peace.

It drooped and it faded, my rose of beauty rare.
The frost king raged madly. --
Then softly bent earthward its blossom sweet and fair,
And languished so sadly.
But God to His bosom the dying flower inclining,
Enwreathed in His glory the rose petals shining.
Sleep, dear one, in peace; in peace;
Unbroken peace.
