A BLOSSOMING BOUGH, by EDWIN MARKHAM Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: A blossoming bough against the sky Last Line: And orchards like white seas! | |||
A blossoming bough against the sky, And all my blood is aleap with life, As if glad violins went by In wild delicious strife! And the Suisun Hills again are green! And I am a boy in the canyons deep, Where the gray sycamores flicker and lean, And waters plunge and sleep. A light, quick wind blows into my heart, Faint with the breath of apple trees; And my lyric lark is back with a start, And orchards like white seas! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A MENDOCINO MEMORY by EDWIN MARKHAM ANCHORED TO THE INFINITE by EDWIN MARKHAM BROTHERHOOD (2) by EDWIN MARKHAM CHILD OF MY HEART by EDWIN MARKHAM CONSECRATED GROUND; READ AT THE NEW YORK CITY HALL by EDWIN MARKHAM |
