WHERE PRAIRIES ROLL, by DELLA MCDANIEL First Line: Where prairies roll, the gods dispel Last Line: Where prairies roll. Subject(s): Nature; Prairies; Plains | |||
Where prairies roll, the gods dispel The fragrance of an earthen smell, And on their broad and tranquil breast The grassy murmurs lull to rest As range winds gently rise and swell. There is a charm no tongue can tell In silent sweeps, where clanging bell Mars not the stillness that is blest Where prairies roll. Oh not for me the wooded dell That smothers like a prison cell; But in vast stretches of the west Where sunshine bathes hollow and crest, Let me abide; for all is well Where prairies roll. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LEFT-HANDED POEM by JAMES GALVIN NO COMPLAINTS; FOR ROBERT GRENIER by ANSELM HOLLO POINT OF ROCKS, TEXAS by NAOMI SHIHAB NYE PRAIRIE HOUSES by BARBARA GUEST AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL by KATHARINE LEE BATES THE PRAIRIES by WILLIAM CULLEN BRYANT TO MAKE A PRAIRIE by EMILY DICKINSON THE PRAIRIE-GRASS DIVIDING by WALT WHITMAN SYMPHONY OF THE SOIL by EVA K.
