TOMORROW, by MYRTLE LEE MELLON First Line: Try not to wait for tomorrow / what has to Last Line: Yesterday, today what we planned for tomorrow. Subject(s): Borrowers And Lenders | |||
Try not to wait for tomorrow What has to be done today. And try not to get started to borrow Unless you intend to pay. But try not to wait for tomorrow What has to be done today. You may be laid away before tomorrow, The things you had planned for today. Try to think of being present today Not tomorrow or some other day. And try to forget of tomorrow Unless, you think of paying back what you borrowed. And today looking forth for tomorrow Passing out from yesterday today what's tomorrow So you can pay back what you borrowed Yesterday, today what we planned for tomorrow. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...EPIGRAM: TO A BORROWING FRIEND by MARCUS VALERIUS MARTIALIS NECESSARY OBSERVATIONS: 16TH PRECEPT by THOMAS RANDOLPH ON BORROWING PLUMES by GEORGE MEASON WHICHER FANNY: 142 by FITZ-GREENE HALLECK RALPH JONES: ON BORROWING by LINDA M.
