SONG: 11, by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD Poet's Biography First Line: Because your treasure is near Last Line: For their joy of release. Alternate Author Name(s): Radford, Ernest, Mrs. | |||
BECAUSE your treasure is near To the touch of your hand, And fresh and flowing and clear Your deep well of delight, The place is bared to the sky Where my treasure should stand, The rain of fountains is dry, That was sweet to my sight. Because your day is ablaze With the flowers that are blown, And glad for length of the ways That are never to part, I watch and tremble for grief In the shadow alone, And branch and blossom and leaf Bring the pain to my heart. Because the word is so kind That is breathed in your ear, And sweet the thoughts you unbind, In your rapture of peace, My words are laggard and late, With the thoughts that are dear, My thoughts that falter and wait For their joy of release. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A BALLAD OF VICTORY by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A BRIDE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A CONCERT by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A DREAM OF 'DREAMS' by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A MODEL by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A MODERN POLYPHEME by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A NOVEMBER ROSE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A NOVICE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A PORTRAIT by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A PRAYER by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD |
