SONG: 26, by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD Poet's Biography First Line: In the first light of the morning Last Line: Because I want him so. Alternate Author Name(s): Radford, Ernest, Mrs. | |||
IN the first light of the morning, When the thrush sang loud and clear, And the black-bird hailed day's dawning, How I wished my love could hear. When the sun shone on the sand there, And the roses bloomed above, And the blue waves kissed the land there, How I longed to see my love. Now the birds good-night are calling, And the moonbeams come and go, And my tears are falling, falling, Because I want him so. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A BALLAD OF VICTORY by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A BRIDE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A CONCERT by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A DREAM OF 'DREAMS' by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A MODEL by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A MODERN POLYPHEME by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A NOVEMBER ROSE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A NOVICE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A PORTRAIT by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A PRAYER by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD |
