TO-NIGHT, by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD Poet's Biography First Line: The hours of the day have departed Last Line: And planets -- they all are mine. Alternate Author Name(s): Radford, Ernest, Mrs. | |||
THE hours of the day have departed, They folded their wings to rest, When the last red ray of sun-light Faded away in the west, And fleecy clouds cover the stars, And beyond is a world of blue, And my soul awakes from a slumber To-night, and I see right through -- Away to a world of azure, Where white-winged spirits meet, While the clouds float and fade below them, And the stars shine at their feet. They hold out their hands in welcome, And now, for a moment of time, Limitless worlds and boundless space, And planets -- they all are mine. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A BALLAD OF VICTORY by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A BRIDE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A CONCERT by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A DREAM OF 'DREAMS' by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A MODEL by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A MODERN POLYPHEME by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A NOVEMBER ROSE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A NOVICE by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A PORTRAIT by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD A PRAYER by DOLLIE CAROLINE MAITLAND RADFORD |
