WASHING DISHES, by MARCENE STOOPS First Line: Like a pool of sunny sea Last Line: Dishes old and dishes new. Subject(s): Cleansing Agents; Washing Machines; Detergents; Soap; Cleansing Compounds; Disinfection And Disinfectants | |||
Like a pool of sunny sea, Capped with waves of sudsy glee. Soap and dishes mixing in, The rally of their master's whim. Swishing merrily to and fro, Up and down the dishes go. In a jolly game of tag, All around the busy rag. Like a line of clean white clothes, Shining, gleaming in their rows. On the rack the dishes stand, Waiting for the dryer's hand. Trimmed in rims of red and blue, Teacups, plates, and saucers too. Looking quite their very best, On the shelf they'll come to rest. Line in line, friend to friend, Hour on hour there they'll spend, Perched on shelves of creamy blue, Dishes old and dishes new. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SOAP SUDS by FREDERICK LOUIS MACNEICE BLOODY MURDER by DAVID RYTMAN SLAVITT SOAP, THE OPPRESSOR by BURGES JOHNSON HOW A CAKE OF SOAP SAVED MADAGASCAR by AMOS RUSSEL WELLS LANCELOT by EDWIN ARLINGTON ROBINSON THE FUTURE LIFE by WILLIAM CULLEN BRYANT OVERLOOKING THE RIVER STOUR by THOMAS HARDY ECHOES: 6 by WILLIAM ERNEST HENLEY THE RUBAIYAT, 1879 EDITION: 14 by OMAR KHAYYAM TO BE CARVED ON A STONE AT THOOR BALLYLEE (1) by WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS SONNETS OF MANHOOD: 36.
