Late summer sends her mystic haze O'er all these charming August days; On fields, she spreads a magic quilt Of gay embroidery built; A background there of darkest green -- Worked in flowers of lovely sheen -- Ironweed, sunflower and Queen Anne's lace -- Each one seems to have its place.
