GOD'S GIFT TO MAN, by ELIZABETH B. THOMPSON First Line: Death is not all there is to life Last Line: When life is god's gift to man. | |||
Death is not all there is to life, Glorious victories follow strife, Darkest nights are turned to day With the sun's first morning ray. The mighty oak would cease to be The strong and sturdy stalwart tree, If death ruled this world supreme Without one hope or future dream. Life is God's gift to man. To destroy it nothing can; Ever present 'twill always be Through days, years, eternity. Let not death mar your plan, When Life is God's gift to man. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...FROM THE AGES WITH A SMILE by EDGAR LEE MASTERS CHILD'S EVENING HYMN by SABINE BARING-GOULD LAMENT FOR THE DEATH OF EOGHAN RUADH (OWEN ROE) O'NEIL by THOMAS OSBORNE DAVIS WHEN DE CO'N PONE'S HOT by PAUL LAURENCE DUNBAR DEATH STANDS ABOVE ME by WALTER SAVAGE LANDOR TO THE LADYBIRD by MOTHER GOOSE EROS TURANNOS by EDWIN ARLINGTON ROBINSON |
