CHILDHOOD: 2, by RICHARD ALDINGTON Poem Explanation Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: I've seen people put | |||
That's how I was. Somebody found my chrysalis I've seen people put And shut it in a match-box. A chrysalis in a match-box, My shrivelled wings were beaten, To see, they told me, "what sort of moth would come." Shed their colours in dusty scales But when it broke its shell Before the box was opened It slipped and stumbled and fell about its prison For the moth to fly. And tried to climb to the light For space to dry its wings. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...AT THE BRITISH MUSEUM by RICHARD ALDINGTON IN THE TRENCHES by RICHARD ALDINGTON VICARIOUS ATONEMENT by RICHARD ALDINGTON IMAGES: 1 by RICHARD ALDINGTON IMAGES: 2 by RICHARD ALDINGTON IMAGES: 3 by RICHARD ALDINGTON IMAGES: 4 by RICHARD ALDINGTON IMAGES: 5 by RICHARD ALDINGTON IMAGES: 6 by RICHARD ALDINGTON |
