DIFFERENTIA, by LULU BRUNT DAWSON First Line: The sun is a god Last Line: Of utter weariness. | |||
The sun is a god, A flaming, avid god, Young as an old man with a new love; And his setting Is as brilliant and resplendent As his rising -- A glory that never wanes. The moon is a goddess, A chaste, sardonic goddess; Old as any woman out of love. She will rise in radiant splendor To triumphant, lucent fullness And then wane and die Of utter weariness. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE WAY OF THE CONVENTICLE OF THE TREES by HAYDEN CARRUTH TO SAMUEL COLERIDGE UPON HEARING HIS 'SOME I FEEL LIKE A MOTHERLESS..' by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON SAINT PATRICK by EDWIN MARKHAM THE DAY IS DONE by PHOEBE CARY THE SHADOWS by FRANK DEMPSTER SHERMAN |
